An Insight Into This Endeavor and I

My name is Amy. I have also written under the pseudonym Maelstrom Maeve in the past on scattered websites here and there.

I’m an ‘88 model. Age is merely a number, and I have found it a rather ineffective measure of experience. I do my best to be at minimum civil if not more preferentially actively friendly and kind to everyone. From newborn to the Centurians, to even my dog- everything and everyone has something to teach us. It is important that we listen to those lessons about ourselves and how we interact with the world around us.

I live in Texas, for the present being. I’m a California transplant, but have been living exclusively in Texas for over a decade now.

I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy from SHSU with dual minors of French and Psychology in 2024. I have far more credits than I needed to graduate that don’t count towards the degree I ended up in. I learned a long time ago that the best path in life is not always the most trodden nor straight forward one. Needless to say, the only reason why I didn’t double major was simply because the state of Texas doesn’t allow publicly funded schools to offer the double major programs that I wanted to enroll in. It is a shame that our higher educational system doesn’t actively support those who are curious and instead discourages it.

So…?

I started this page for a number of reasons. It ranges from being able to publish my various forms of work in a digestible medium that I have control over, to giving myself a space to communicate information that I think is important that other people might want or need to know, and to share my art freely.

Ultimately, I feel that it is important for others to know that they are not alone, and that those who cannot find the words are able to find solace in knowing others have experienced similar. Having emotions, thoughts, sentiments translated into digestible language lets others be seen.

My Personal Philosophy in a weird abstract:

There is no denying that I am an acquired taste and an eclectic. I believe in the virtues of kindness, curiosity, inquisitiveness, open-mindedness and being a deconstructionist of all concepts through world-travelling (in the Lugones sense, NOT the hop on the plane sense, although I believe in that too).

I have spent most of my life mentally breaking down the way things work, and examining relationships between those parts, and how those interconnect with other things’ parts- a concept relational mechanic if you will. In sum, I lean towards deconstructionalism in order to imagine a better world for the future.

I’m equally challenging because of the fact that I function that way, as I can be kind and blunt while holding others accountable. I expect others to do the same for me. Constructive feedback is how human beings learn, develop themselves, and grow. I refrain from speaking over those of minority diaspora, and will instead seek to connect and understand their experiences through exploring the mutuality found within the Human Experience.

I am a liminal being. I exist predominantly in the “in-between” spaces of diaspora innumerable- - to be frank that is something we all do. I am intersectional, as we all are as well in some way, shape or form at some point and time in our lives.

I am Me

as

You are You.

I believe in Radical Autonomy within the constraints of [cultural anthropocentric study] Social Fabric agreement- - so long as those social agreements are Tolerant and Equitable. My aim is for less tolerance and more Acceptance and Equity- the kind of equality that has no barriers for anyone, equal respect, recognition, and access for all.

I am a feral gremlin like creature that collects shiny things, has pockets full of pretty rocks, and talks to trees. I sing my secrets into the wind, and talk to the lizards that live in my jasmine bush. Being whimsical and maintaining the ability to view the world through the eyes of a child is equally important in the world today.

Here on this site, you will embark upon a curated narrative of what has fascinated or struck a chord in me, that which intertwines origins and milestones, a testament to a profound dedication to knowledge and putting it into practical use. Drawing from a tapestry of experiences that span across disciplines -- philosophy, the arts, the sciences, and history [both global history and autohistoria], each word resonating with decades of collective wisdom, and sometimes a nugget of centennial wisdom-- I wish to share my sanctuary and thoughts, while creating a like minded haven community in the process for all of us.

I welcome you to my world: a realm where art, poetry, and research converge.
