The Avoidant
I see you there in life
Eyes closed, thinking that suppression is expression
That ignoring the truth will make it not reality
Oh how I have been there in delusion, it is not living.
Ruled by your fear more than you know
You refuse to connect, which makes the stagnant waters grow
And I- a creature of flowing water- might soon depart
For torrential waters unknown content yet still alone.
I am connected to Everything and you are too
I wish you’d stop using technology
To dissociate and instead you made efforts to better cope
To find peace and joy in connection and in our home.
Teaching you what you need to know
Is not my role.
I herald change, transition, opportunities to grow
If you choose to heed my wisdom to soul.
I think, instead, most fight and remain blind
Denying the truth, which was there the entire time.
I challenge myself daily in what I believe,
How to be better, how to succeed.
That- effort and presence- are two requirements for growth.
So, will you grow with me?
Or will I outgrow you before
You barely start at all?
